It’s no secret that I’m an OSS person. It’s also no secret that I get hundreds of recruiter emails a month. It was so bad, I created a seperate mailbox today just for recruiters - then this little bad boy showed up…

Description:
This is a consultant position. He/She will work with Pilot team to resolve issues arising during the implementation, work on customization of user interface to match GEHC requirements.

Location: Milwaukee,WI
Duration: 6+Months

Primary Job Functions
·Provide resolution to issues related to Open office features vs MS Office
·Customize Open office interface/menu to mirror MS office to extent feasible
·Explore feasibility of migrating/interoperating Excel macros with office calc
·Track and maintain issues with Open office during the rollout
·Work with application teams to resolve App integration issues
·Work with deployment/project teams to resolve issues arising during deployment
·Track solutions to issues/challenges with Open office on the web and identify ways to implemented the same in GEHC when needed
·Work with application deployment team to incorporate customizations into deployment packages

Software & Technology Experience - essential
The candidate must be good at coding jobs, familiar with design/customization tools.
This person should be familiar with the detail of below technologies and know how to accomplish requirements via them
·Open Office 2.x (especially OpenOffice.org Basic)
·ASP and Java
·HTML/XML
·Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
·Microsoft Office

Qualifications
·Good written & oral communication skills in English
·Strong documentation skills
·Proven skill in web-based application programming with .Net or JavaScript
·BS/BA in computer science, engineering or technical area (or equivalent) with minimum 2 years direct coding experience.

I’ve withheld the reps name, email, etc because I don’t want to become a posting service for OSS job ops, but this one intrigued me. It’s not a PHP related coding position, which is mostly what I see. Someone actually is using Open Office in an office environment to save money.
