Diebold Security, Again

It seems Diebold voting machines just can’t get away from all the security hoopla. A recent blogger found that they could open the side doors protecting the memory and connections to the machine with a common key from a hotel mini-bar. It just so happens that the key in question is used on Office Furniture, Computer locks, etc and can be bought online, in bulk for cheap.

Not only can the machines be infected with viruses and infect other machines, they be configured to steal votes. Now, with this key issue, it makes it all the more susceptible to attack. How can a company, who knows that their software and hardware has to be absolutely right on, make all these mistakes? This really makes me wonder how secure other Diebold products are? ATM Hacking anyone?

On top of that, I didn’t think my car could handle too much of a hard drive being on all the time - ie: I don’t want to shut off my carputer, at all. Continue reading…

Some british humor is pretty dry, but a recent YouTube video had me laughing pretty hard.
